Job Description: Floral Designer
Job Summary
The Floral Designer is the master behind our creative designs. They will design and create standard and customized floral
arrangements for customers. They must have innate talent and originality with fresh and silk flowers. Designers must have
solid experience. Ultimately, an exceptional Floral Designer should be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills and
ensure that ordered floral arrangements are completed in a timely manner. They must be able to work independently and in
teams where creativity and innovation are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Customer sales - work with clients in the store and on the phone to determine their type of arrangement, specific requirements, price desired, date, time and place of delivery. Enter order into floral system.
- Create arrangements according to client specification in a timely manner.
- Use their creativity to design beautiful arrangements for not only customers but for the front cooler as well.
- Be able to make planters, put together other items such as tapestry throws, lanterns, windchimes and other giftware.
- Clean up workstations every day before leaving, restocking, keep track of inventory needs, and let the office know if an item is out of stock.
- Help with front designs, window displays and other seasonal decorations.
- Must be able to work long hours during the holidays, such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and the Christmas season.
- Will help with floral designs for events and weddings when needed.
Job Requirements
Education: High school or GED
Experience: Proven floral design preferred
Skills: Excellent organizational skills, effective communication skills, exceptional customer service, artistic and creative,
detailed oriented, flexible work schedule, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Systems/Tools: Basic computer and phone skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand the majority of the time.
- Occasionally moves about the office shop to assist customers and gather flowers.
- Frequently operates a computer, and other office equipment such as phone system, printer, copier, and fax/scanner.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast environment.
- Ability to work with a team or independently.

Job Summary
The floral manager will manage the overall operations of the florist and is responsible for the effective and successful
management of the floral designers and associates. Ensure safe and efficient operations. They will also create standard and
customized floral arrangements for customers, take part in wedding/event consultations. Ultimately, the operations
manager should be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ensure that ordered floral arrangements are
completed in a timely manner, carry out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and
applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Manage floral designers and sales associates.
- Interviewing, selecting, training new and existing employees.
- Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions.
- Work with clients in the store of on the phone to determine their type of arrangement, specific requirements, price desired date, time and place of delivery. Enter order into floral system.
- Create arrangements according to client specification in a timely manner.
- Keep track of flowers needed for special orders, organize website orders, wire service orders and handle communication with those outlets.
- Handle all scheduling for designers and sales associates. Weekly and vacations.
- Must be able to work extra hours when needed, especially during holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and the Christmas season.
- They will troubleshoot any problems and handle complaints.
- They will help with seasonal decorating and window displays.
- Coordinating the deliveries with the drivers
Job Requirements
Education: High school required; associates degree preferred
Experience: Managerial skills and solid floral design skills
Skills: Excellent management and organizational skills, effective communication skills, exceptional customer service, artistic
and creative, detailed oriented
Systems/Tools: Basic computer and phone skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand the majority of the time.
- Occasionally moves about the shop to assist designers, sales associates, delivery drivers, and customers.
- Frequently operates a computer, and other office equipment such as phone system, printer, copier, and fax/scanner.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast environment.
- The ability to move about the showroom and atrium to dust and vacuum.
